Game Workshop for Educators (July 2019)
July 24 @ 10:00 am - July 25 @ 5:00 pm$275 – $375
Game development is a rapidly evolving field that exists in the intersection of storytelling and computer programming. Game designers shape and construct new gaming experiences and then bring them to life. Game development offers an opportunity to use creative thinking and practice problem solving, iteration, and the design process.
Our Game Workshop for Educators introduces the visual programming language Scratch as a platform for teaching beginner game development. Attendees will learn fundamental programming concepts in Scratch, how to create basic game mechanics, and how to teach these skills to youth.
