Create a custom cookie cutter for any occasion easily using this tutorial!

Setup and Supplies

Making a 3D printed Cookie Cutter is easy and fun to create.  You’ll need a computer, internet connection and of course a 3D-Printer.

How to Create a 3D Printed Cookie Cutter

Perfect for creating custom baked cookies for any occasion.

Step 1: Visit Cookie Caster Website

Visit Cookiecaster.com and click on the “Draw your Custom Cookie” cutter button.

Step 2: Follow Cookie Caster Website Tutorial

Follow the tutorial to learn the basics of Cookie Caster. If you cannot access the tutorial, that’s okay! We have some guides below to teach you about Cookie Caster.

Step 3: Design a Cookie Cutter!

When you have finished the tutorial, you are ready to start designing your own cookie cutters! Click the “Leave Tutorial” button.

Step 4: Learn about the Pen Tool

If you are not able to access the tutorial, that’s okay! We have put together some resources for you. To learn about how Cookie Caster works, use the Pen Tool to make a heart, just as it’s shown in this image.

Step 5: Placing first Node

Start by clicking the Pen tool and placing a point down in the work area. Cookie Caster draws in vectors that have nodes which help with manipulating the drawing.

Step 6: Making a Straight Line

The next node will be created by moving the mouse to the right and after making a straight line.

Step 7: Repeat Lines

Repeat the steps until you have a square.

Step 9: Creating Curves

Grab the yellow dot in the middle of the top line to see what happens. Once finished put it back it place.

Step 10: Moving a Node

Move the bottom left node horizontally until it is aligned with the top yellow handle.

Step 11: Moving a Node

Move the top right node horizontally to the left until it is aligned with the bottom blue node. Grab the bottom right node and move upwards until it looks like the picture to the left.

Step 12: Grab Curve Handles

Grab the yellow handles to create a heart shape.

Step 13: Settings & Downloading

When you have completed the design of your cookie cutter, you will need to change the Download Options. Change the options to the following:

  • Max Size: Medium (3.5”)
  • Height: 0.4”
  • Thickness: Thin (1.5mm)

Once you have made these changes, click the “Download 3D File” button.
